NEWS AND NOTICES

Updating member data by phone

Engineers Australia has embarked on a telephone campaign to update member data. Over the next three to four weeks it will be contacting those members who have not responded to the four privacy choice questions. Only members living in Australia will be contacted.

During this process members will be asked to verify a number of personal details. Engineers Australia expects that the outcome of this process will be an up-to-date database, which will assist in more efficient communication with members. For more information on the campaign click here.

Heritage plaque for standard gauge rail line

A heritage plaque and interpretive panel were unveiled in Brisbane this week commemorating 25 years since the final section of standard gauge rail line was completed between Sydney and Brisbane.

Governor of Queensland Penelope Wensley performed the ceremony in the presence of Queensland minister for transport and multicultural affairs Annastacia Palaszczuk and Engineers Australia representative Dennis Wogan.

The plaque and panel are part of Engineers Australia’s heritage program.

The plaque and panel will be placed at Queensland Rail's Roma Street station once renovation works are completed next year.
